In Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district, our Community Correspondent Anil Kumar Saroj, who has been working for the welfare of Musahar community for a long time now, created an impact for the area's school kids. Under the Anganwadi system, school children are entitled to a minimum ration. But because a few kids belonged to the Musahar community they were not given their quota of ration. The administrators of the program discriminated against them and thought of them as unclean.
Anil worked with the community and submitted an application to the local District Magistrate. The authorities coordinated with the local Block Development Officer and the children's full quota of ration was restored.
"It was all because of you and your intervention that we were able to get our full share," said one of the mothers of the children while speaking to Anil.
